    Whereas, by Order in Council P.C. 2007-828 of May 24, 2007, the terms and conditions of employment of the special adviser to the Minister of National Revenue, to be known as the Taxpayers’ Ombudsman, were established;

   And whereas it is desirable to amend those terms and conditions of employment;

   Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, hereby amends the schedule to Order in Council P.C. 2007-828 of May 24, 2007 by replacing section 2 with the following:

 2. The Ombudsman shall be appointed by the Governor in Council for a term of five years, which term may not be renewed, and may only be removed for cause by the Governor in Council.

This Order takes effect on February 18, 2011.

   Attendu que, par le décret C.P. 2007-828 du 24 mai 2007, les modalités d’emploi du conseiller spécial du ministre du Revenu national, lequel porte le titre d’ombudsman des contribuables, ont été établies;

   Attendu qu’il est souhaitable de modifier ces modalités d’emploi,

   À ces causes, sur recommandation du premier ministre, Son Excellence le Gouverneur général en conseil remplace l’article 2 de l’annexe du décret C.P. 2007-828 du 24 mai 2007 par ce qui suit :

 2. L’ombudsman est nommé par le gouverneur en conseil pour un mandat non renouvelable de cinq ans, sauf révocation motivée de la part du gouverneur en conseil.

Le présent décret prend effet le 18 février 2011.
